The 2013 edition of the Florida Claims Manual is our twenty-third edition and represents a continuing effort to provide current information to clients of our firm who are defending claims in the state of Florida. This Manual is designed to provide accurate information; but is not meant to be an exhaustive analysis; nor is it designed to provide the final word in any particular claim or issue. The Florida Legislature has enacted significant changes in regard to Florida's motor vehicle No-Fault Law involving personal injury protection (PIP) claims. These changes are contained in Chapter IV of this Manual and highlights of the changes are included at the conclusion of that Chapter.
The Chapter on Medications/Medical Terms was completed by Chris Coleman in our Ocala office and please note that Chris is also a pharmacist.
The Chapter on Employment Discrimination was authored by Doug LaPointe in our Orlando office.
There is a new Chapter on Sinkhole Claims which was authored by Billie Bellamy in our Orlando office.
